Lab Profile
식물의 환경스트레스는 산화스트레스와 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있는 데 그 이유는 식물이 합성해내는 각종 이차대사산물들이 식물의 산화스트레스를 억제하여 환경스트레스 노출 시에 저항성을 부여하는 물질로 기능하기 때문이다.
지금까지의 국내외 연구를 살펴보면 식물의 환경스트레스 신호 전달 체계 자체의 이해를 통한 신호전달 인자의 유전자원 확보와 그의 기능 규명에 초점이 맞추어져 왔으며 모델식물에서 확보된 이들 전사조절자의 경제작물로의 도입 및 그 특성 연구가 한창 진행되고 있는 단계이다.
본 연구실은 식물의 환경스트레스를 억제시킬 수 있는 각종 이차대사산물의 새로운 전사조절 관련 유전자들의 발견 및 그의 식물 형질전환체에 연구 목표를 두고 있으며 궁극적으로는 이들 유전자원을 활용한 작물의 내재해성 형질전환체의 생산과 그 효용성을 연구하고자 한다.
