    Research Topic

    미생물이 생산하는 미생물 이차 대사산물은 유기합성으로는 만들 수 없는 다양한 생물학적 활성을 지닌 다양한 화학적 구조를 가지고 있기 때문에 천연물을 이용한 살균제의 발견과 개발에 있어 새로운 화합물 구조와 다양한 생리활성 표적을 제공하는 중요한 역할을 하고 있습니다. 이와 더불어 미생물 대사산물은 농업환경에 노출되었을 때 한 달 또는 수일 만에 쉽게 분해되기 때문에 농업환경에서 잔류에 의한 부작용을 최소화함으로 환경 친화적이라는 장점을 가지고 있습니다. 또한 미생물은 대량 배양이 용이하며, 천연물 생산에 관련하는 유전자 연구가 상대적으로 발전되어 있어, 신규 살균제 개발 측면에 있어 다른 천연물 소재보다 유리하다는 점에서 그 중요성이 있습니다.

     

    따라서 본 식물약학 연구실(Plant Pharmacology Lab.)에서는 천연물 연구 전략으로서 화학생물학(Chemical biology), 미생물 유전자 분석(Microbial genetic analysis)에 기반한 미생물 이차대사 산물 연구에 중점을 두고 있으며, 핵자기공명분광학(Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy)을 비롯한 다양한 분광학, 분자생물학(Molecular biology)및 생화학(Biochemistry) 등의 다양한 학문을 바탕으로 미생물의 대사산물로부터 유용한 항진균활성 물질을 개발하여 식물 병원균에 방제 효과가 있는 천연 살균제의 개발을 목표로 천연물의 화학적 연구와 미생물 대사산물의 생합성 기구의 공학적 재설계에 관한 연구를 수행하고 있습니다.
