1. Psychosocial and biological mechanisms linking early adversity to adult development
My research interests center on investigating longitudinal associations between early adverse family/community environments and later adult development in terms of social attainment and behavioral health risks (e.g., alcohol, marijuana, and stimulant use). I am particularly interested in psychosocial and biological linking mechanisms, including future orientation, relational schemes, and genetic methylation.
2. Romantic relationships in emerging adulthood
Young adults involve in various types of romantic relationships; while some involve in supportive and stable relationships, others may involve in rather conflictual relationships experiencing multiple dissolutions. My research focuses on exploring the heterogeneous trajectory of romantic relationship experiences among young adults in terms of types (e.g., cohabitation, marriage), quality (e.g., partner violence), and stability (e.g., multiple transitions) and its predictors stemming from early family/community contexts.
