Director

JungHa Lim, Ph.D. is a professor of child and adolescent development in the college of education, Korea University, where she directs the Child Studies Laboratory. She earned her Ph.D. in child studies from Korea University. Her research focuses on emotion regulation/dysregulation and adjustment of children in relation to family processes including parental depressive symptoms, marital conflict, emotion-related parenting, and parent-child attachment. Other research interests include the effects of positive emotions (e.g. happiness, hope, gratitude, forgiveness) on quality of life. She is the former President of the Korean Association of Human Development. Currently, she is the head professor of Early Childhood Education at Korea University. 

 

Research Assistant

Chanyoung Park (e-mail: chanyoung@korea.ac.kr) is a graduate student in the master’s program, and she works as a research assistant in the lab. She is interested in child-parent relationships and problem behavior in early childhood.

 

Postdoctoral Fellow

Jungwon Choi received her MA and Ph.D. in child studies from Korea University. Her dissertation, entitled Construction and Validation of Children's Peer Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire examines rejection sensitivity in a peer context among Korean children. Her current research project includes the association between rejection sensitivity and interpersonal relationships (e.g. peer relationships, and romantic relationships) among children and adolescents.

 

Graduate Students in the Child Studies Lab

Jieun Song received a master’s degree in child studies from Korea University. Her research interests include parent-child relationships and parenting of multicultural families as well as children’s social and school psychological adjustment.

 

Joo Hyun Kim is a Ph.D. student. Her research interests involve parent-child relationships and the relationship contexts of children’s lives – families, communities, and cultures – that socialize gratitude in children.

 

Ohyeon Kwon is a Ph.D. student. She is studying the associations among parental psychological control, autonomy support, and social/emotional development of children and adolescents.

 

Zayoun Huh is a Ph.D. student. She is studying the cyberbullying among children and adolescents associated with self-control, parenting behavior, and peer relationship.

 

Sungmin Park is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Human Ecology. She is currently studying the vocabulary of early childhood. She is also interested in the parental role in promoting the development of children's social emotions.

 

Eunkyung Choi is a Ph.D. student. She is studying the parent-adolescent relationship of emerging adulthood. She is interested in family diversity, parenting stress, work-family balance.

 

Jiyoon Choi is a Ph.D. student. Her research interests include fathering and fathers' role in positive effects on their child's development.

 

Taehee Kwak is a Ph.D. student. Her current research interests include cognitive emotion regulation of children. She is also interested in child welfare and grandparent-grandchild relationships. 

 

Eunhee Ham is a graduate student in the master’s program. She is interested in family factors that affect a child's emotional regulation.

 

Jin-a Seo is a Ph.D. student. She is working on the problem of child abuse in educational institutions. She is also interested in studying adult relationships.

 

Guo Ailin is a graduate student in the master’s program. She is interested in parent-child relationships and the psychology of children.

 

Eunbin Park is a graduate student in the master's program. Her research interests involve parental burnout and the dynamics of family contexts that affect children's development.

 

Miyeon Song is a  graduate student in the master's program. She is interested in the emotional development and peer relations of children.

 

Yejee Jeong is a second year graduate student in the master’s program. She is interested in child-parent relationships and social-emotional development.

 

Wang Haomiao is a second year graduate student in the master’s program. She is interested in the development of emotion and temperament.

 

Jiangqi Lin is a second year graduate student in the master's program. She is interested in parent-child relationships and children and adolescents’ development.

 

Wang Hanyue is a second year graduate student in the master’s program. She is interested in the psychology of child development.
