    Dr. Hyojong Song is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Korea University. He completed his B.A. in Sociology and M.A. in Public Administration at Korea University, and received his Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of South Florida. He formerly served at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley as an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice.

     

    Dr. Song’s research covers testing theories of crime and delinquency, deviant behavior in cyberspace, and environmental crime and justice. He is specifically interested in examining criminogenic mechanisms as identifying roles of the environmental factors, individual criminal propensities, and their interplay. He is also interested in the impacts of technological progress on changes in crime patterns as well as characteristics of offenders and victims.
