Research Topic

최근 서양식 식습관과 생활패턴 등으로 인하여 증가된 심혈관질환은 단일질환 국내 사망률 1위에 이르고 있다. 심혈관질환을 극복하기 위한 많은 노력들이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구실은 심혈관질환의 치료를 위해 임상적 적용 가능한 줄기세포 치료법에 관심이 있다.

1) 현재 시행되고 있는 약물요법 및 중재 시술 등의 치료법으로 치료할 수 없는 중증 심혈관질환자의 손상된 심장조직 내로 줄기세포를 이식하여 (새로운 심근세포 및 혈관의 재생을 통한) 심혈관질환자의 손상된 심장조직을 기능적으로 회복을 위한 연구를 진행하고 있다. 관상동맥을 결찰(폐쇄)하여 만든 심근경색모델동물로의 효율적이고 안정적인 줄기세포 치료법 개발을 연구하고 있다. 또한, 정상인 및 심혈관질환자의 혈액 내에 존재하는 줄기세포를 규명하는 전임상 연구 등을 수행하고 있다.

- 배아 및 성체줄기세포를 이용한 세포 증식 및 분화 탐지 시스템 개발

- 다양한 물리적/화학적 재료를 이용한 심근 및 혈관세포로의 분화 유도 및 관련 기전 연구

- 성체줄기세포 치료제의 이식 기술 확립 및 기전을 규명하는 전임상 연구

- 관상동맥질환의 발병 및 스텐트 시술 후의 신생내막 증식 기전 규명줄기세포 기반 in vitro 심혈관계 질환모델링 개발

2) 다양한 줄기세포 (골수, 심장 및 지방 등) 고도로 효과적인 성체줄기세포 원천, 심혈관 세포로의 기능적인 분화 방법과 기전규명과 동시에 줄기세포로부터 성숙 심근세포로의 분화 기술 개발을 통한 약물 독성 평가 및 심혈관질환 모델링 연구를 진행하고 있다.

3) 다학제 융합연구를 통하여 줄기세포의 다양한 활용가능성을 탐색함으로서 심혈관질환 모델로 이식을 통한 새로운 세포치료 기술 개발 연구과 동시에 심혈관질환 환자의 혈액을 이용하여 질환 조기진단을 위한 새로운 바이오마커를 발굴하고, 고감도 바이오마커 감지 시스템을 개발 연구를 수행하고 있다.
