안녕하세요. 저는 고려대학교 의과대학 이비인후-두경부외과학 교실의 교수로 재직중인 박일호입니다. 이비인후과라는 전문과목 중에서도 비과(rhinology)를 세부전문과목으로 전공하고 있습니다. 대학에 근무하면서 사회가 요구하는 시스템에 적응하다 보니 의도하든 또는 의도하지 않았든 임상의로서 오랜 기간 세상을 ‘코’라는 작은 창을 통해 바라보았고 그 작은 창으로 보인 세상이 내가 볼 수 있는 가장 멋진 풍경이라고 믿고 지내왔습니다. 문득 어느 날 좁아진 시야에 갇혀 있고 한없이 지루해진 제 자신을 보았습니다. 그리고 다시 오랜 시간 좁아진 창을 다시 넓히고자 끊임없이 노력했고 지금도 노력하고 있습니다. 현재의 제 연구 관심 분야는 크게 3가지로 정리됩니다.

 

• - Basic research to overcome upper airway chronic inflammatory disease
• - Development of protocol for medical device usability test and clinical trial
• - Development of smart healthcare medical devices (Wearables and biosensing personal health tools)

  

   위 연구분야에 대해 연구를 지속하기 위해 2020년 현재 2 가지 다른 분야의 연구팀이 저와 함께 하고 있습니다. 각 연구팀은 4-5명으로 구성되어 있습니다. 각 연구팀은 다음의 명칭을 가지고 있습니다.

• - ACID (Upper Airway Chronic Inflammatory Disease) Research Laboratory
• - KU DREAM (Development and Research Acceleration partner for Medical device)

   이름에서 짐작할 수 있겠지만 ACID 팀은 상기도만성염증성질환의 극복을 목적으로 기초연구를 진행하고 있으며 세포, 동물 그리고 임상연구를 동시에 수행합니다. Dream 팀은 의료기기의 Research도 일부 같이 수해하지만 주로 Development를 지원하는 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 의료기기의 사용환경 조사, 사용자 특성 조사, 관련 규격 안내, 사용적합성 테스트 수행, 임상시험 수행을 하고 있으며 동시에 해당 내용과 관련된 인허가 관련 컨설팅을 수행하고 있습니다.  

 저의 연구관심 분야에 공통점이 있든 없든 소통을 원하시는 모든 연구자와의 소통을 환영합니다. 설명하였듯이 보다 넓은 시야로 세상을 바라보고 싶기 때문입니다.
